Broker's Comments

*Length overall (LOA) is based on manufacturing values.
* *Keep in mind the overhang lengths will be necessary for mooring and marina berth context. In this case she is just over 50' counting overhanging components.

Hans Christians were purpose built to handle long voyages, and provide comfortable living at sea for extended period. At anchor she will shrug off ground swells and allow occupants a peaceful respite.

Overall she is a very solid example of this renowned brand.
With a fair amount of elbow grease and vision it would not take much to get this beautiful girl back in shipshape.

Over the last 3 years, the current owner has invested well over $50k to refit and maintain the operational systems and mechanical components. During this time all through hull fittings have been replaced and the hull was sanded and new barrier coat - zincs were replace where needed. There was no visible signs of osmosis.

Below decks, her interior is lavish and impeccably crafted in teak, bronze, copper and stainless hardware. From the overhead to the bulkheads and sole there are no stains and no sign of water ingress. All the port lights are clean and nicely bedded with no sign of water damage around the perimeters. The upholstery look new and in very good condition.
Every element below decks is clean and odor free.
There are 3 private cabins 2 of which are double berthed.
The 2 aft cabins provide single berth to starboard and a double to port. There is storage in excess for either.
There is a large navigation station to starboard and forward of the companionway as you descend. The desk space is large and unencumbered. There is good access to the components, including radar, VHF, GPS. and chart plotter.
The galley is massive and the basin with work surface is centrally located to make food prep at sea a breeze. There are huge toptloading refrigerator and freezer. Food storage is abundant.
In the beamiest section below decks, you will find a cavernous saloon with a huge settee and table.
Moving forward of the saloon is the large head to port. It has a stand alone shower, space for more storage and a new macerating electric head. This space can be isolated from the saloon and the V berth by utilizing clever hatch and door system. The space starboard of the head is storage and shelves with fiddled edges.
Forward of this space is a very large V berth w/ queen quarter berth to port. There is also access to the anchor locker forward of V berth.
All access to engine, utilities and heaps of storage is below the settee and galley basin. The access panels are easily removed and allow very good access to most of the major operational systems.
The Isuzu motor has been recently serviced and has new glow plugs and heat exchanger. With the current hours and basic maintenance it will have a long service life.
Above decks, as you move around the exterior, the teak elements of this stately vessel appear structurally sound, however, she will need some sanding and considerable cosmetic revitalization. The hull-freeboard and overall foundation looks solid. The bowsprit has some paint delamination in areas.
The standing rigging appears sound although it does appear original and a rigging survey is advisable prior to heavy voyaging. The running rigging, blocks, winches and deck organizers appear serviceable but could use attention and cleaning.

Her slip is transferrable at a clean and secure marina in Tacoma, WA.

This Hans Christian 43 is currently available for viewing by appointment and reasonable offers are being considered. She would make a great LLC opportunity for an air BNB, and also a great travelling home on the sea for a couple or small family with vision and ambition.
