The starting battery is charged by the starboard engine, the house bank is charged by the port engine, and all batteries are charge by the battery charger shore power or genset. Smart Plug shore power inlets are located at the bow and stern which provides flexibility in docking.

The engine room is clean, well lit, roomy and extremely well insulated with sound proofing. Access to the Ford Lehman SP135 6-cylinder 135 hp 6.22 liter engines is good. These engines are beautifully trimmed with chrome -- real showpieces. The seller of this vessel owned a marine engine service shop and mechanically everything appears in excellent condition.

The generator is configured with a water/exhaust separator for quiet running.

For moorage purposes the length is 49.5 ft.

The hull is constructed of hand-laid fiberglass. The superstructure is also fiberglass construction. Stainless stanchions with teak decks and varnished cap rails.

The 300 gallon steel fuel tanks are cross connected and accessible from the engine room (total of 600 gallons). Fuel level can be monitored with sight gauge or with a stick gauge.

The 143 gallon steel water tanks are cross connected and located in the lazarette (total of 286 gallons).

The holding tank is newer and poly and located in the engine room. Two oversized vent lines are run from the holding tank -- one to the port side of the hull and the other to starboard. The result is excellent ventilation of the holding tank.

Waterline Boats / Boatshed does not independently verify capacities and measures, which are reported from seller-provided information and/or literature.

Broker's Comments

This Grand Banks 42 Classic is truly Bristol. Boathouse kept. The seller was the owner of a marine engine service business for many years, and this iconic trawler has the appearance of exceptional care and attention inside and out cosmetically and mechanically. The exterior varnished teak shines and the raw teak decks look superb.

As equipped this boat is well configured for weekend or extended cruising. Fantastic interior layout with two cabins and two heads. The layout and seating arrangement in the main cabin is well laid out for entertaining.

Propulsion is provided by two Lehman SP135s. The engine room has been exceedingly well sound proofed for quiet operation.

Numerous thoughtful upgrades and equipment replacements have been made by the seller, which mean that there is nothing obvious to me that needs to be done prior to enjoying this Grand Banks 42. See the full listing for a list of upgrades and newer equipment.

If desired, the boathouse is also for sale (to be purchased separately).
