Broker's Comments
The Westerly Discus is a solid cruiser, built to Lloyd's certification (Lloyd's Register of Shipping), one of the most prominent marine classification societies in the world.
The Discus was built with safety and comfort in mind. The solid construction and weighty feel, provide security in a blow, and the roomy interior gives plenty of comfort.
This model is the "bridge deck version", this design feature, gives an aft-cockpit with broad, high bridge deck between the cockpit and main hatch, it also incorporates a surprisingly roomy aft cabin.
This popular model of Westerly, penned by famed marine artilect, Laurent Giles, is complimented by a modern array of navigational aids and lots of well though-out extras, all adding to the ease of single handed cruising, with this vessel.
For example, there are 2x forward facing CCTV to aid mooring and berthing, there is an extra beefy windless with remote control, 2x solar panels and a wind generator provide a great power supply. The sails wardrobe includes, spinnaker and storm jib, both in good condition.
The engine, although original has relatively low hours and a long list of recent upgrades- see engine details.
This is an impressive example of a popular and capable cruiser, built to last and maintained to a high standard. The boat has circumnavigated the UK in recent years and is ready to depart on her next adventure.
