Broker's Comments
This Holman & Pye designed Super Sovereign 35 Ketch has been under the same ownership for over 15 years and in 2017, over £20,000 was spent on a refurbishment programme.
This vessel was purchased six months ago but a change in personal circumstances has resulted in the current owner having to put her back up for sale.
We have on file the full survey carried out in April 2021 which is available for viewing on board.
The Perkins engine was professionally overhauled and fitted with a new fuel injector pump, new alternator, new engine mounts and prop shaft. A B&G Vulcan 9 chart plotter was fitted, a VHF DSC Simrad Radio, a Victron easy solar control unit and an Adverc charging system.
This example has a GRP hull and coachroof. The hull was re-epoxied in 2004 and the windows were re-sealed during the same period. The original teak deck covering has been removed and the decks sealed and covered in anti slip.
The cockpit is deep with high combings and feels safe. The combination of wheel steering and a coachroof mounted mainsheet traveller keeps it uncluttered and practical.
Down below, the traditional style accommodation is surprisingly well laid out and comfortable for an ocean going yacht of this era. The head room is good, it's light and airy and there is good storage throughout. The large navigation station has a handy quarter berth running aft of it.
These classic blue water cruisers have more than proved themselves with their seakeeping qualities. At least one has been sailed single headedly across the North Atlantic.
A traditional, classic, ketch rigged blue water cruiser with a £20k investment, well worth consideration.
