Broker's Comments
Ron Holland is a very famous yacht designer who came to prominence in the 1970's with his successful racing designs, and is now best known for his super yachts, such as the 247-foot Mirabella V, launched in 2003 which was not only Holland's largest design, but also the largest ever single-masted sailing yacht.
His successful designs won many trophy's and accolades including Quarter Ton Cup. in 1973, the 1976 Half-ton Cup,1975 Fastnet Race, 1977 Fastnet Race, Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race in 1979, 1983 Trans-Pacific Yacht Race amongst others.
The Ron Holland 42 was originally built by Nautor Swan (38 built) in GRP. This unique example is the only one to have been cold moulded resulting in a very fast and stiff cruiser racer with a 10% weight advantage over the GRP versions
Double Thyme has been extremely well cared for and upgraded by her current owners as can be seen in the photographs. She is afloat in on a marina mooring and is ready for the season This vessel must be seen if you are looking for a fast and comfortable cruiser/ racer. This very well known vessel won line honours in the Classic Racing Yacht Class in this years Round the Island Race.
