Broker's Comments

Boatshed London are delighted to offer this 15m Humber Barge for sale with Limehouse residential mooring in East London.

Originally built in 1954 and in the ownership of the seller for many years, this is truly a magnificent floating home. Humber Barges always have massive headroom and the main living area and galley feels spacious and bright. With three cabins, it's an excellent family home.

The barge has been regularly cruised (a rare thing in London) and you will be buying from owners that know and understand every inch of this boat and willing to pass on their knowledge.

She has been high pressure washed back to bare metal, doubled below the waterline, primed and Hemple epoxy painted with new anodes fitted in 2014. Before the owners' trip to the continent in 2017 she had a new shaft and prop fitted and the engine serviced.

She is extremely comfortable with a light, airy and expansive living area, (2.9 m ceiling height), three double berths, a wet room, and Planus macerator toilet.

She is well insulated therefore warm in the winter, (-10 when we were in Amsterdam), with a wood / coal burning fire, and cool in Summer with large opening 75 X 210 cm skylights to circulate the air.

The residential mooring at Limehouse Basin is transferable (5% transfer fee) and means you can join this friendly community of boaters with excellent transport links and facilities. Current mooring fees are £8,650 per annum approx. The overall 15m length of this boat allied to its VAT exempt status means this boat has much more affordable mooring fees than other comparable boats on the market currently.
